ZooBoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo
October 4-5, 11-13, 18-20 & 24-27
Opens Nightly at 7 p.m.
Come creep around ZooBoo at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo; the zoo have announced details for the 15th year of the family-friendly attraction, including a new walk-through “haunt” titled French Quarter Phantoms 3D. The New Orleans-themed attraction promises to explore the “secret and sinister side of one of the most haunted cities in America,” a zoo news release said.
ZooBoo attractions are rated from one to seven “skulls” to indicate their intensity, with seven skulls being recommended for mature audiences and one skull being okay for small children.
This year’s ZooBoo features five walk-through haunts ranging from three to seven skulls, night rides, a specialty gift shop, and elaborate decorations throughout the park.
There are also a number of one-skull activities, such as the Little Beasties Bungalow filled with “not-so-scary monsters” and the Spooky Fun Fair games area.
Children ages 11 and younger are permitted to wear costumes to ZooBoo.
As part of the zoo’s Zoo School educational program, a Zoo Boo Family sleepover is set for Oct. 12. Advance registration is required at lowryparkzoo.com/_education/register.html.
